I worked with faculty and staff to develop thought leadership and student experience content that is used as part of the lead generation efforts and traditional admissions marketing for the university. One of the key channels for that thought leadership is the university blog. When I came, it resided on an outdated Blogger site. I developed Post’s WordPress blog website Post University Insights*. The WordPress site not only gave the blog a fresh, new look but improved integration with social media through Open Graph Protocol and helped Post to streamline SEO efforts. I also ported over the more than three hundred Blogger blogs onto the new blog site.
We posted about three times a week on average and featured a variety of regular features including My Post Experience, a student story feature that I developed for the blog, social (#MyPostExperience) and video. Other features included Five Questions…, Post in the Media, Student News, Career Advice, and Athletics Roundup.
The blog allowed me to spotlight thought leadership content by our faculty, which I then successfully used to pitch faculty thought leaders as contributors in key industry blogs and to national media commentary opportunities.
*Please note: The images above show the design of the blog as it was when I was at Post University. Recently, Post did a rebranding, and with it, changed the colors and design/layout of the Post University blog. The URL changed also and the home page is located here.
